Amazon Influencer Program: Earning Up to $2,000 Monthly on a Part-Time Basis
Side Hustle Nation is focused on enhancing your personal profitability, often collaborating with companies that align with this goal. If you register or purchase through one of our partner links, we may receive compensation at no additional cost to you. Learn more. In 2023, I released an episode discussing the 17 different income streams I was exploring. Among those, the smallest one garnered the most interest, which was the Amazon Influencer Program. At the time of recording, I had only earned $9.50, yet I noted it was the easiest money I had made online. A month later, I surpassed $100.
There were numerous inquiries about the program, and today’s episode aims to address those to determine if the Amazon Influencer Program could become a viable income stream for you! To help clarify how the program operates, I enlisted two Side Hustle Show listeners who earn around $2,000 monthly from their product review videos. The first was Jon Corres, who encouraged me to try the program. You may recall him from episode 413, where he discussed making $10k a month on YouTube without appearing on camera. The second was Tyler Christensen from TylerChristensen.com, a dedicated side hustler, educator, and father of four, who has also found success with the program.
2025 UPDATE
I recently spoke with Tyler to find out what’s new in the Amazon Influencer Program. He mentioned that his income from product reviews has increased to about $5,000 per month, totaling more than $130,000 since he began.

Round 1: Update on the Amazon Influencer Program
Getting Accepted into the Amazon Influencer Program
The Amazon Influencer Program remains one of the best avenues to earn money on Amazon. However, the landscape has shifted significantly over the past year. Influencers are now adapting to optimize their earnings amidst rising competition and evolving monetization methods. The fundamental idea of the program stays the same — you create product reviews showcased on Amazon product pages — but your earning potential has changed. Nonetheless, Tyler still regards it as one of the simplest side hustles, though it demands a more refined strategy.
Increased Competition and Changing Strategies
If a product already has 20 reviews, it becomes more challenging for your video to differentiate itself. As a result, influencers are now targeting trending or high-ticket items. While bestsellers may have excessive competing content, new products can offer fresh opportunities. Some influencers utilize software tools to identify products with lower competition; however, Tyler prefers manual research based on his experience. “I received a sponsored video this week for a power station costing $3,000 on Amazon."
Product Review Best Practices
Jon and Tyler shared effective strategies for getting paid for Amazon reviews.
Keep It Simple
Tyler’s top-performing videos focus on the positive and negative aspects of the product. He typically films these using his phone in selfie mode, often in a single take. He recognized the importance of simplicity in his product reviews after Amazon rejected a highly edited video he had worked on for hours, believing it contained excessive information.
Shoot Horizontally
Jon prefers filming his videos in the traditional horizontal format, as it aligns with the way people generally watch TV shows and movies.
Address a Problem with the Product
When reviewing products, it’s vital to persuade viewers to make a purchase. Jon suggests highlighting a problem and presenting the product as the solution. For instance, in a review of a breakfast sandwich maker, he framed his pitch around the question, “Want to know how to make the best breakfast sandwich? This is the product you need!” This approach has led to numerous high-converting videos for Jon.
Show Outcomes
Rather than merely discussing product results, demonstrate them as well. In one review of a teeth whitening product, Jon not only unboxed the item but also displayed its effects on his teeth after a week of use, enhancing his appeal to potential buyers.
Keep Your Thumbnail Authentic
Jon opts for straightforward thumbnails. He usually selects an image from his review and includes his hand to signify his use of the product.
